Fit America Contest Aims to Change the Shape of the NationSpa package, gym equipment, and more join prize line-up
PUYALLUP, Wash., Nov. 21, 2006 – What do a one-year membership to MyFitnessTrainer.com (http://www.myfitnesstrainer.com), a spa product package, hypnosis, an Aqua-Jogger Fitness System and gym equipment have in common? They are all prizes in the Fit America Contest (http://www.fitamericacontest.com), a free weight-loss contest open to anyone in the U.S.
“We have some exciting prize donations from businesses interested in promoting fitness,” said Annette Hudson, CPT, founder of MyFitnessTrainer.com and the Fit America Contest. “More companies are hearing about the Fit America Contest, and they want to be involved in supporting people’s fitness goals.”
To kick off the contest, Hudson was the first to offer a prize: A free one-year membership to MyFitnessTrainer.com. The Web site works as an online personal trainer, instructing members how to eat better, exercise regularly and maintain healthy lifestyles based on their own personal goals, metabolism, physical abilities and other unique factors. Additionally, every entrant in the Fit America Contest will receive a free three-month membership during the contest (January 1, 2007 through April 1, 2007).
Northwest Woman™ magazine (http://www.northwestwoman.com) has signed on to provide free one-year subscriptions to the first 50 women from Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana to enter the Fit America Contest. Published six times a year, Northwest Woman™ provides concise, friendly, informative articles of interest to Northwest women.
One Fit America Contest winner will receive a handmade luxury spa products package, courtesy of JoLene Marie’s Bath & Body Shop (http://www.jolenemaries.com). JoLene Marie’s products, including herbal salves and products for bath and body care, face care, foot care, pregnancy and baby, are crafted in individual batches of the freshest natural ingredients.
For Fit America Contest winners who need a little extra help sticking to their fitness plans, Hypnosis Network® (http://www.hypnosisnetwork.com) has donated ten “Enjoying Weight Loss” audio hypnosis programs on CD. Using the latest weight loss research and cutting-edge hypnosis techniques, the four-CD program helps the user follow any healthy eating and exercise plan for real results.
Water fitness giant AquaJogger® (http://www.aquajogger.com) has donated one AquaJogger Fitness System. Tailored to women or men, the system includes a buoyancy belt, DeltaBells handgear, AquaRunners RX footgear, a “Getting Started” video, and a water workout guide.
And there’s another big prize in the works: A major gym equipment manufacturer has offered to donate a prize for the Fit America Contest. Details will be released in December.
“Anyone can become involved with the Fit America Contest,” stated Hudson. “Any business can donate a prize, even if it is only available to winners in that company’s local area. And anyone can be a winner in the Fit America Contest. It’s not all about how much weight is lost; we are also looking at people’s stories of their fitness journeys. New Year’s Day is coming up fast, so I encourage businesses thinking of becoming involved to contact me.”

National Weight Loss Contest Recruits Top Fitness Experts to Help New Years Resolutions Come True
The nation’s top fitness leaders volunteer their time to offer advice, tips and recipes to Fit America Contest participants online.
Puyallup, WA, January 5, 2006- This New Year, weight loss resolutions stand a better chance because of The Fit America Contest, (www.FitAmericaContest.com,) with prizes valued at a total of over $50,000. With no entry fee and free weight-loss tools, this contest aspires to change the shape of the nation. Now the country’s top fitness leaders are joining forces to make that happen.
“There is an expert on the Fit America Contest forum for every question a participant can ask. We have doctors, dietitians, physical therapists, personal trainers, authors, boxing pros and a celebrity chef,” said the contest organizer, Annette Hudson. “These experts are leaders in their fields and they are generously donating their time to answer questions and help the Fit America Contest participants reach their goals.”
One challenge to contestants is that the contest takes place online. There is no weight-loss ranch and no hands-on help. Participants are required to take their fitness into their own hands and keep “showing up” each day. This is where the fitness experts come in. Contestants visit the fitness forum at http://www.myfitnesstrainer.com/forums/index.php and the experts help them to perfect their personal weight loss programs.
Many participants are benefiting from this resource. “I think this contest is amazing,” said Elizabeth Blair, a Fit America Contest participant who has already lost 3 inches. “The wide variety of experts on the fitness forum is incredible.”
For those who are getting a slow start on their New Year’s resolutions, it is not too late to join the contest. Entries will be accepted through February 28, 2007. All participants will win a free membership to www.MyFitnessTrainer.com. The fitness forum is open to all those who are striving to lose weight this New Year.
The Fit America Contest is free to everyone, and everyone has a chance to win. Winners are chosen subjectively, using measurements, photos and a short essay. Those who would like to enter the contest should go to www.FitAmericaContest.com.
