Myths & Facts about Weight Loss & Fitness
Did you know that ab exercises aren't the most effective method for losing tummy flab? You've probably wondered about a lot of weight loss and fitness myths. Some of them are easily dismissed. Unfortunately, others may already be filed in your head as fact. In fact, did you know:
- Dieting means being hungry.
- Women get big and bulky if they lift too much weight.
- Overweight people need to eat less.
- The best way to lose tummy flab is with ab exercises.
- Men should eat 1500 calories to lose weight, women should eat 1200.
If you did "know" any of these "facts," try to un-learn them! They are all myths. All of them (except the tummy one) can sometimes be true, but are not always the case. The tummy one is downright false.
trainer_tip("I have noticed with my clients that some weight loss myths get so firmly planted, that it takes quite a while to correct them. Be patient with yourself as you work to re-educate yourself about fat loss. It is a long but fruitful process."); ?>
