If you are like most Americans, you're setting a New Year's Resolution this year. And, chances are that your New Year's Resolution is a resolution to get fit.
Here are some ideas to help you reach your New Year's Resolution:
Make sure you set a goal that you're willing to stick with. New Year's Resolutions are about making long-term change.
Consider setting a goal that will only last one to three months. This may be more do-able, and then you can set a new resolution when you're done.
Make sure your goal is good for you. For example, don't resolve to lose 20 pounds in a month. This is unhealthy. It's best to try to lose no more than 1-2 pounds per week.
Write your New Year's Resolution down. Having something in writing will help you remember your goal and stick with it.
Set your New Year's Resolution with a friend. Resolve to work together to achieve your fitness goals.
Think of your New Year's Resolution for fitness as a part-time job. Study up on the topics that will help you do a great job. Devote the time necessary to do it right. Don't cancel your workouts any quicker than you'd skip work.
